My experience with DXing is much like you state Jim but on really weak DX, I'm constantly twisting knobs trying to optimize the RX....RF gain, BW, high and or low cut, APF and its frequency settings.
I agree with that... Sent from my iPad _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/tentec
Im sure that is possible but the result might be that you end up with the efficiency of a dummy load hanging in a tree. The rig would be happy though... There are no silver bullets to turn a poorly m
Dang John....a Motor Coach...I figured you as more of a Pop Up guy...I mean it does everything one would want of a camping device. Hey just a little humor... Cecil K5DL From: John King Sent: January
Well I hope they stick with the dual VFO knobs. It may seem silly but that is one of the big reasons I went to an Orion II. I came from Yaesu FT-1000 series radios and two things I really enjoy havin
Not so much. I like the black but would like the control markings to contrast the background....or better yet be backlit...LEDs are cheap. I dislike metallic plated plastics for something like a fron
My Centurion has a Peter Dahl replacement transformer that is over wound a bit to bump up the plate voltage. Does a nice job. It's a great amp. With the plate voltage and the RF parts graphite tubes
Sorry sir but an Omni VI+ and an Omni VI Rev 3 are the same thing. I have one of each and there are no differences between them internally. Some of the later Omni VI+ had surface mount components as
Sent from my iPad Thanks you made my point... Don't care what the model number is, technically...electronically they are the same, and the discussion was centered around interfacing to the radio wher
The only part of that that makes any sense would be that it is easier to date a 564 and it being newer than any 563. I guess there is no way to really know except by a check of the serial number how
I won't buy a high end radio that is point and click...just ain't happening. Full front panel...stand alone from a separate computer. Guess i am old school and I don't expect it to change. Don't care
I don't really want that busying up my station computer...would rather have a VGA port on the radio to connect a standard off the shelf computer monitor to...that way I could also determine the size
It's genius..i hope it's carried over to the next top line radio... Cecil K5DL Sent from my iPad _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com http://lists
Great list... I would like to add one thing that does not seemed to be mentioned in the UI discussions... Please mark the molded in control designations with a contrasting color so they are visible..
Not sure what to make of that...want to explain? Sent from my iPad _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listin
I guess I would have to see what possibilities it would offer. My limit of computer control has been through my logging program...DXLab. I'm not much on computer controlled radio. I'm a hands on op.
Good info Paul.... Different perspective... Cecil K5DL Sent from my iPad _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/

An assembled base 100W K3 is $2350 and shipping. If that's a stretch for a customer then he should be buying an Eagle...not an OIII An Omni VII costs more than a base K3....and is way more capable. W
I have a very nice Omni VI factory upgrade to Option 3. All filter slots full in both IF's, Inrad SSB Roofing filter mod. Recently serviced with connectors on every board pulled, treated with Deoxit
