My experience with DXing is much like you state Jim but on really weak DX, I'm constantly twisting knobs trying to optimize the RX....RF gain, BW, high and or low cut, APF and its frequency settings.

My Centurion has a Peter Dahl replacement transformer that is over wound a bit to bump up the plate voltage. Does a nice job. It's a great amp. With the plate voltage and the RF parts graphite tubes

I guess I would have to see what possibilities it would offer. My limit of computer control has been through my logging program...DXLab. I'm not much on computer controlled radio. I'm a hands on op.

An assembled base 100W K3 is $2350 and shipping. If that's a stretch for a customer then he should be buying an Eagle...not an OIII An Omni VII costs more than a base K3....and is way more capable. W
