hello.. i also use a ft920 on 6, I had a 706 2g and i really beg to differ.... the706 can not even compare to the 920... but it will do 2 and 432, which are 2 bands u "need" to do vhf contesting .. n

I do believe that the only frequency that you can not use is 146.52 I have not seen any other "outlawed" frequencies... here locally, over a dozen contacts can be made on 146.58 and 446.00 FM durring

other than spending big $$$ on a preamp you should probably look around for better Coax.. Bury flex is not a Low loss cable... at 1296 anyway.. you are looking at a 6.8 db loss this is going to take
