I used fix_mine a couple of times during and after the contest with no problem. Make sure when you run these utilites to just execute them first with no file name. That way you will get the info line

If you have to use Windows to close the program, you are not using DOS. DOS CT runs in DOS, not in a shell within Windows. If you have any Windows except XP or later, then you have to boot into DOS.
