not a dumb question at all... there have been several messages petaining to this issue on this and the rtty reflector. the cure is to set the computer clock to gmt, at/in the casaclanca monrovia time

thanks,, it is not a port problem, Im not getting that far-- it is set to use PTT-- cw is dotted on lpt port-- this issue resolved via direct io program..pin 16 Im using the same cable that I ve used
