All, I just won a rackmount, 5kW termination load, with peak reading wattmeter off ebay. The load was made by Sierra Electronics, division of Philco. The model is a 400A-Z. I'm now looking for a manu

I wouldn't put a "cheap" N-UHF adapter on a 5kW dummy load... Joe I just won a rackmount, 5kW termination load, with peak reading wattmeter off ebay. The load was made by Sierra Electronics, division

Does not look to be able to handle 5KW rms, maybe peak pulse only. I have the Palstar DL5K. It is quite a bit larger and has two large fans to help keep the two huge resistors cool. The resistors are

Keith, That could have a couple of resistors that size in it as I'm familiar with the Palstar load. The cabinet is about 4" high, and a good bit deep so it may have two large or say 4 smaller ones in

You must be thinking about some other unit. The DL5K is 9"W x 8"H x 14"D and weighs 12 pounds. If you buy a new one you will have to take the cover off to remove the packing materials before using. T

Keith, No, I didn't mean the Palstar was 4 inches high, the Sierra one is about that and a rack cabinet type. The Palstar has a higher cabinet as you say. The two resistors are about 2" O.D., and abo

Dave, That's ok as no more than I have in it, I'll rip out the small load resistor and replace it with a load bank that will fit in the cabinet. The peak power meter and rack cabinet was worth the $9
