Please, please don'tuse cut numbers when transmitting a serial number. I've even heard some Es and As today - that's just absurd, and counterproductive.. There is good information science behind this

I noticed the same thing yesterday. I had to listen twice or even three times to a few guys to figure out what they were doing! Trying to copy a 4 digit serial number right the first time with QRM in

Pete, I couldn't agree with you more! I shake my head every time I hear a cut number, before I go into 'translation mode' to figure out what the heck the actual number was that was sent.  Bill N3RR _

It is my pleasure every time I get a cut number other than the typical 5NN like using them in a serial number I AGN? ,,, AGN? AGN,,, till I get actual numbers. I hate them, they slow me down terribly

The practice should be banned from CW contesting. It's not cool, and certainly does NOT increase QSO speed. If anything, it slows things down. 73, Gerry W1VE _________________________________________

Amen, Pete! And can we please get rid of leading 0's, too? They cause problems if the signals are weak or get hit by QRM. If signals are good they serve no useful purpose. Either way, they are a time

I find it frustrating too. When I get get cut numbers in a serial number I take an extra second or two minimum to make sure I entered it correctly. Certainly that negates any time savings gained in s

Especially when they are sending at 50wpm with over the pole flutter. I've fond the best thing to do if they are running is just keep asking for repeats until they slow down or send numbers. After ev

Fully support your opinion. It has become ridiculous, and it's getting worse. We can also debate if it is time to omit 599 as such. Reports in contesting and DX-ing don't matter anymore. I know comme

Well, maybe they have to, to save time. The worst thing I ever heard was 4T100MP sending their call as 4T1TTMP. Of course, it could have been even worse as 4TATTMP, a really bad ATTeMPt. I wrote them

I hope you at least try and give them chance to send non-cut numbers to complete the QSO. To give another station a NIL is not going to teach them much when they get the UBN report a year later, with
