Hi All, I need some help in deciding if I want to buy the TenTec Jupiter. I'm looking for a back-up to my Omni 6, opt 1 (which I couldn't be happier with). Work mostly cw, but some ssb also. If I buy

If you have the right filters in your Omni VI, it will run circles around the Jupiter. The Jupiter can do lots of stuff the Omni VI can't do but the VI wins in the filter department. 73 Rick Hi All,

I've had an Omni V and my other rig is a K2/100. I tend to use the Pegasus most and on CW. The filters at the narrow bandwidths are not steep. The 300hz filter looks like it has about a 3 to 1 slope.

Buy a Paragon II and load it up with filters. It's about the same price as a Jupiter and a much better radio. 73 Bob, K4TAX _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@

Tips in what way? I use mine on CW, SSB, AM and FM. It is quite good on CW and SSB as one would expect. As to AM it works nice, just adjust the power in AM mode to 25 to 30 watts output, LSB, and run

<<<This power level is just about correct for driving a Centurion to legal AM limit of 375 watts carrier.>>> I'd never drive a centurion to 375 w. cxr on AM. It is simply not up to that kind of duty.

If it is not up to 375 watts on AM then how does one justify the RTTY an SSTV limit of 650 watt limit, 50% duty cycle, 10 minute transmission limit? After all RTTY and SSTV is a carrier mode with 100
