John, A great little interface with the "guts" built right into the DB25 connector is made by JCOM. They advertise in QST and other pubs...I'll send you their address if I can find it. You might look

You can build one yourself for under $20. You need an MAX232, some caps, and a couple of other small parts. There is an article in QST (Feb 94 I think) showing how to do it. I have built several. Let

I would suggest the MFJ 232 Interface cable. It takes it power from the RS232 port, I have not rfi problems. It is just plug and play. I have made several of the MAX232 interfaces. They all work well
