I'm surprised at this.

At one time, I considered getting 'P'-series (0.45 - 2.5 MHz) elements 
especially for use on 160.  However, I was told that, for the high power 
elements at least, the standard 'H'-series 2-30 MHz units were fine down to 
1.8 MHz.  My own experience with the 2500H has been supportive of this.  I 
was glad, because having to swap elements about when moving between topband 
and the rest of HF would have been a real pain.  What sort of errors have 
you noticed with what sort of (powers of) elements?

Thinking about it, I'm not sure I have ever checked an H-series at exactly 
1.8 MHz.  Did you mean 1.8 MHz exactly, or were you just using 1.8 to refer 
generically to topband?  Whatever, I would still be surprised if for a 
specified reading at 2MHz there was substantial error 200 kHz 
lower.  I'll  warm the TX (and dummy load!) up later and check.  I have a 
few H-series elements and the TX will I think go down to 1.6 MHz.
