I guess it's easy to blowhard all day about good engineering practise if
you are an engineer...Maybe some of the advice will rub off on mere
radio ham non engineers who want to put together an amplifier project
for themselves on limited means and scrounged parts....There again,
maybe some of these hams would be better buying something commercially
made and not take the risk of electrocuting themselves or someone else
and leave the engineers to argue and nitpick the finer points of their
profession week in week out, each one trying to outdo the other with
their superior knowledge..
However apart from the entertainment point of view, I guess that buried
amongst the rhetoric and confusion, there are probably a few ideas that
will rub off on radio hams in general that will either completely scare
them off having a go at home brewing or starting stamp collecting as a
safer hobby..
If I read one more thread about Nicrome wire and parisitic suppressors,
I will probably be driven to wrapping a length of the cursed stuff
around my neck and strangling myself..
Lighten up a bit...
