For a long run down a tower, you need to tape the cable to the tower at about 3 foot intervals to stop things moving. For a crank up, fold over tower, my recommendation is a 5/16 inch diameter 'messenger rope' with the cables taped to it every 3 feet or so, with 3 feet of rope and 37 inches of cable. That way, the rope takes the strain off the cable. Worked for me since 1986.... And PL259 connectors..... Now all I need is people to stop volunteering me to do other things for ham radio.....and leave me time for MY projects! 73 Peter G3RZP _______________________________________________ Amps mailing list Amps@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/amps |
