Will have to be near there as I will have very limited transportation.

Hi all - sorry that this is not strictly a "contest" related subject.
Had a e-mail from DL9WVM today asking me to confirm that I was A4XVK
and could still confirm contacts - I guess he is updating a master QSL
manager list. I tried replying but my reply bounced - meanwhile I had
deleted his mail to me!

JARL All JA contest( like SS by ARRL) will be held at April 29th
(this is the national holiday) for 24hours. And this might be the
last week end of April like this year.
Can you imagine the confusion?

Great conditions. Worked RZ9U on 15 at midnight local. 10 meters was much
better on Friday than during the test on Saturday, but considering all, no
complaints! The wide band noise (reportedly Radio Vatican) was a bit of a
problem on 20 for a short while Saturday night. Heard W1AW S&Ping on 160
real early Sunday morning, but couldn't draw them out. Asked the 80 meter
op about top band later. He said 0900. At 0900 heard nothing on the band,
but from the comments by Rich, sounds like the ops needed sleep worse than
I needed the mult! I pull my shorti beverages down during the summer, to
keep peace with the xyl.Took them down prior to CW WPX last year which was
a mistake. Waited until after WPX this year (even though I ended up
operating with the NJ4F group). I also pulled the wires used to transmit
on 160 down, so no decent low band receive antennas and ended up using the
80 meter N4KG special on 160 (it was good for 3 zones). 80 sounded good,
but noise was a problem. Agree with KF3P's comments on (rotten) qrm
during field day. Had one incident of frequency encroachment (that's
putting it nicely) in IARU. Things really got so slow in the 23rd hour
that I decided to bag it before I nodded off. This was indeed a great fun
contest. See y'all in NAQP CW. It's another fun shorti!

And this is exactly how HG9*HQ and DA0HQ rack up those mind-numbing
scores! A funny corollary is how, momentarily forgetting this, I
asked the 15M op at DA0HQ what their 10M running frequency was.
He didn't know.... :-)
