When I submitted my log, I didn't receive any message from the robot about
incorrect information. But afterwards the log checker sent me an email
asking me to make a correction to my log.
The first QSO I made I sent NY as my location when WNY was required. I
corrected the SW entry after that first QSO and continued on. When I went to
send in the log, I did not make the change, why you ask?
I forgot but .... I REALLY did send "NY" to that first station and that
station did not ask for a repeat or a correction. All of the rest were sent
WNY. So I actually sent in my log 100% correct, for the information that was
actually exchanged during the contest.
I would correct it and send it in again, but I am one of those that barely
meets the submission deadlines in the first place, and the motivation to
correct one QSO, that is actually correct as entered, is very low.
Now I do not mind the friendly observation that I messed up on one QSO, and
the request for a log change, except that the log is actually correct as
submitted. I guess since I knew about the error during the contest, the
correction is fair game, and not post contest log massaging. But one QSO is
kind of a don't care, not like it was a big score or anything.
So dock me the one QSO and whatever penalty and lets call it a day. But
please check the log of my first QSO and see what he logged. If he logged
anything other than NY he did not log what I sent. Guess I screwed him over
too! Hi. Hi. Sorry dude.
And to the log checker thanks for the note, it is appreciated, and
noteworthy that this level of detail is being taken during the log checking
process. I'm glad those paper days are gone!
