Martin,
We kick started the VUCG (VU Contest Group) informally last year and plan to
have a formal presence starting this year. The sticking point for us has
been the distance from the central point to member stations as per the
current rules for Club competition.
In a country like India which has less than 20-25 active contesters, a
national contest club is the only option to give a sense of
team spirit, spread the word locally in their own areas and drive more
people into contesting.
We look forward to the day when Club competition will possibly be limited by
the national boundary + expeditions by members as the basis for computing
club scores. Even State or Province will not work here as we may find States
having no more than 4-5 active contesters!
