I previously posted a problem I had interfacing a Icom 775 to CT 9.58
The problem was that although CT would follow the radio through the
bands it would not take the spot frequencies and move them to the
transmitter. It just seemed that no data was going back to the radio.
I had tried the 775 at 9600 baud and had included that in the TSR and
included it under SETUP in CT. I use 8N1 which is typical for Icom and
I used COM1.
I tried to install the 781, 735 and other Icoms to see if they would
work. You have to change the data bit in the radio menu when you do
this. i.e. it is 46H for 775 etc.
Anyway I did two additional things:
I reseated the serial cables and adapters and I restarted the computer
from a cold boot.
This is a WIN 95 operating system which I boot up first to DOS with the
F8 key. What I suspect is that I missed the F8 on time and sort of did
not wait until WIN 95 came up before I shut it down. I somehow think
that when this happens that you have to let windows come up normally,
shut it down normally and then restart and catch the DOS with the F8.
(That is what I refer to as a clean boot)
Of course if you don't need windows I find it is best to dump it and
have a straight DOS machine. (NO F8 and all that)
For your information and tnx for the replies
