Duane, Thanks for the response. I really don't like the monitor function on
any radio. Never much used it on FT-1000D and only tried it on the ORION II
to check that it worked...then turned it OFF, thank you. The "<OM" function
is not the problem. "SP" The rf is in the audio with or WITHOUT the
processor turned on. By the way, when an external speaker is plugged into
the back, no problems.
I am going to carry the rig over to a friend's station on Sunday and give
it a whirl there. I will report the findings. Thanks Duane. - Mike

Mike,
Are you describing received audio (from the RX), or monitored
tranmitted audio? Your mention of the amp leads me to think you're
talking about the transmitted audio, and the monitored audio you're
hearing in your headset. If so, first, make sure the "MON" level is
turned down low enough. Second, try without the Proc (SP) and let us
know if it improves. If neither of those works, and you haven't tried it
yet, try a master reset. The more information you can provide about what
you're hearing, the more we'll be able to help.
