CAT 5 and 6 do not like tight turns, but 6 is far better than 5 with
dividers separating each pair.
I would suggest when winding the chokes just do not try to make the
turns nice and compact. IE, Tight to the core(s)
My 3 runs from the switch in the basement to the shop go across the
basement ceiling, 90 degree up the plate, 90 degree turn then through
the plate, 90 degree turn and up the wall to the ceiling of the garage,
90 degree turn and about 35 feet across the ceiling, 90 degree turn and
down the wall, 90 degree turn and through the wall. 90 degree turn and
underground in PVC conduit.90 degree turn and to the shop in another 35'
run, 90 deg turn and up the wall, 90 degree turn and through the wall
and from there it kinda wanders about 6 feet to the computers. I had two
of the runs that were not working. I found kinks at several of the 90s.
replacing the 90s with sweep 90s and no kinks cured the problems.
