Hello Kermit...

Running the RST and the Zone together like 59905 will cause problems for
many contesters because not all programs will separate the 599 from the
05 and populate the correct fields in the log. Instead of instantly
clicking on the elements of the exchange, the operator will need to jump
to the keyboard and manually enter the information, slowing the logging
process down.

Without restarting the "space, no-space" debate again... in this case
either 599-05 or 599 05 is a better choice over having all the numbers
run together.

But you are asking about CQWW... yes, for that contest my macros are
setup to send either 599 MN 04 or 599 MN MN 04, depending upon band
conditions. When signals are 20+ dB over S-9 and there is no fading, a
short exchange is best. When you're working 80m, with static, and low
signal strengths it helps to double up on the fields like the second
example.

A proficient operator will always adjust his/her macros throughout a
contest to compensate for the band and current conditions.
