I am also in the process of writing my director and this is the time of the year when I get renewal notices in the mail every week reminding me that they don't want me to miss an issue of QST so I should renew now. Sad to say that I'm another who only remains a member for LoTW & the DXCC program. In my 40 years as a ham I don't remember one single time that any of my ham friends or myself were asked how we feel about any issue yet they say that they represent their members.

I have written my director as well telling him my disappointment with the way the ARRL has handled this whole ordeal, especially the way they have been dismissive of us who oppose RM-11708. I would suggest that EVERYONE write their director to tell them you are not
happy with the way the ARRL is handling this. It is time to annoy them.

If you don't know who your director is, or what his email address is, go to:

The new ARRL letter arrived today and this is what I sent to my division director.

Hi Cliff,

Sorry to bug you again but this thing won't go away. In todays ARRL letter was an explanation concerning RM-11708 with this statement "ARRL said comments opposed to its initiative reflect a "fundamental misunderstanding" of the petition's intent". There might not have been a misuderstanding had ARRL presented this for input BEFORE submitting it to the FCC. The way this reads only those opposed "misunderstood" the intent so it stands to reason that those in favor, Winlink (comments generated by the network admin solicitation on MARINE web sites and others), Emcomm and those desiring Pactor 4 legalization understood exactly what the petition was about. Sad state of affairs that diminishes ARRL standing.
