Now that the guys who really know what they are talking about have responded
to Lee I feel safe in saying, yeah, they are right. I have a tribander on
top of the house attached to chimney and one wire, a G5RV. I only point the
tribander in about three positions in any contest, DXpedition or ragchew;
between northeast and east, north, and southwest. I flip between the
tribander and wire frequently just to see what one antenna might hear that
the other one doesn't. John made a good point about working ZK, Cuba etc.
Worked both in contest with tribander beaming north to northeast. When I put
the tribander together I purposely avoided spacing it for good front to
back. It hears and talks about as well one way as the other.
