All TenTec manuals from the early Triton series on have had a "solid state
primer" in the opening pages.
They have stated for the last 30 years that their finals will handle mismatches
from open circuit to short circuit without harming the transistors, but that
there is no guarantee that the output will meet specs under these conditions.
Just common sense stuff, since no one would expect good results from
a bad antenna situation.
