 Bob
?I was reading the back part of the manual I think you most likely found the
problem. Ten Tec gear is new to me and it takes a while to read and understand
just how they do things and way. I will borrow the necessary gear and go thru
the rig, hope that will cure the problem, think it will.
thanks

Since the IF and filters are the same for all bands, there is no reason for
160M and 80M to sound any different than any other band other than the fact
on 160M and 80M you are using LSB (40M too) and on other bands USB. There's
different BFO's for LSB and USB. Now as to no bottom end on the audio,
likely the BFO frequency is incorrect. Sounds like a proper alignment with
a good frequency counter is needed. Those oscillators do have interaction
between CW, USB, LSB and FSK and require adjustment to 1 Hz or better. The
procedure is in the manual and must be followed precisely in sequence for
proper results.

Quick and easy test. Tune in a SW station on the upper end of 40M using
LSB. Then without changing anything, switch to USB. If the sound changes
the BFO's need alignment.
