One other reason to discontinue the Omni VI is the improvements made to DSP
since the Option 3 or 564 came out.
I have the Inrad CW roofing filter centered on 600 hz (not 750) and the 221
filter (centered on 500 hz) and its pretty darned bullet proof/runs rings
around a 756Pro.
BUT...for dealing with my power line noise (typically S8 on 40 meters) the Pro
(not even a Pro 3) does a much better job of reducing it without as much
pumping as the AF DSP on my Omni VI.
Maybe I just need to pony up to a Timewave DSP599Z...has anyone added that to a
564 or Option 3, and if so, was it worth it?

radios is that key components may no longer be available for easy repairs.
For example, TenTec tech support told me it was not cost effective to
repair my Omni VI, option 3, because they no longer stocked the logic board
that is the 'heart' of that radio.
