It was a long time ago but it was probably the only place I found room. Or it 
could have been an existing screw or stud.

Those values were with the bridge completely out of the circuit.

Why did you mount it on the back of the front panel?

If it does end up being the bridge, I recommend you remotely mount the new one 
somewhere. I put mine on the back side of the front panel. Use BIG wire. (At 
least 12 gauge)
And use heat sink grease.
