You can catch the loop by installing an X made out of dowel or some other
material directly underneath the top plate and extending say 1 foot beyond
the top plate and secured with cable ties or other means.

When I did this, I realized that I needed 2 or 3 feet of gratuitous
mast length so that the loops wouldn't be falling onto the top of the
tower.  Otherwise, I would have used just enough mast to get
the antenna to clear the tower.  I went to a double strength mast
to allow having the MonstIR up that high without bending the mast.
I think this is the main disadvantage of this rotor loop method.
With a 106 foot tower, the last thing I needed was an additional 3 feet of
height due to the mast.  However, I could not think of a better way to do
it, except maybe mount a big plate on top of the tower for the
pile of coax to rest on out of harms way.
