I have to agree with Jim here. The old B-1 balun Force 12 sold was not very
good - I managed to burn out a couple. The SWR was never as flat as with the
'ugly balun'. :)

AAARGH! Most strings of beads are terrible chokes, because they are
inductive, not resistive, at the operating frequencies. This is discussed in
the tutorial I referenced earlier in this thread.
