| I always wondered about that. That was way before computer modeling, of 
course. Even today, modeling traps is very difficult, hence all the 
interleaved tribanders.

     When I was the Natl Sales Manager for Hy-Gain/Telex in the 90's, I met the 
guy that designed the TH-6. Hy-Gain had a nice antenna range and he said it took them 4 
hours per iteration so I guess we'd say it was by educated trial-and-error.
