We have three operating positions at W0MA.Two use ICOM IC-756Pro3s and one uses
an IC-756Pro2. The rig interface for each is a third party USB based CIV cable
that uses the Prolific chipset USB driver. Our experience is that we always
have to manually edit the writelog.ini file and either add or modify the
following:
[RIGS]
Icom IC-756PROIII=0x6e
Com5:=19200,n,8,1 <======= change this to 1 - the default is 2.
Sometimes Writelog adds the above entry, but with the last parameter (stop
bits) as a two. We always have to change it to a 1 manually to get rig control
to work with Writelog.
I'm pretty certain this is because of the Prolific USB driver, not because of
Writelog.
We're currently running version 11.13.
