Comments:
I usually host a M/S for the 160 CW contests but my phased verticals are now
down and I only have a badly matched single wire vertical remaining. So, I
decided to make this a SO very casual event. Friday night I was on more than
expected. I did take about a 1 hour break to have dinner with my wife but
finally shut down about 0730 UTC. I was there for almost all of the EU sunrise
and honestly I expected more. My first EU Q was in the very first minute of the
contest and had many more across the evening, but sunrise was a disappointment.
As this was a casual event I spent most of Saturday night watching a few of the
conference football game playoffs only walking into the radio room to clear a
few spots. I also shut down for good around 0200 UTC. Spent too much time
Saturday morning and afternoon working on the new antenna system and was
exhausted. Never got up for either US sunrise so no clue how things to the west
and northwest sounded.
All in all, it was a fun time and hope to be back in the M/S class in the very
near future.
73,
Bruce N1LN
