Douglas,
Thank you for providing the List and me with your individual experience
as a amateur quality Amp user.
And yes the 2K-4 and Alpha 374A are True Values when it come to present
day "Quality"
I presently run 3 Amps in my QTH, The "oldie but goodie" Alpha 374 (not
the A) and then the much maligned MLA2500 and a my Favorite a
Commercial/Military Auto Tune Harris into a Collins remote Tuner.
I have looked at some of the "Modern" amateur quality amplifiers and have
found most of them "wanting" (and OH yes Dan that includes HENRY)
Give me a Collins, Harris, or Sun Commercial/Mil Amp any day all day
long, that's "Rugged,and Reliable".
It is my opinion that if one wants the best you do not need to "pay
through the nose" for the so called "commercial" quality.
For far less the what they want you can get a Top Quality Commercial/Mill
surplus unit or even get some of the "expert" built units.
If you want to pay $4K plus spend it on the "most bang for your buck" and
not on marketing hype.
My beef is not with Henry or Henry Amps its with the insistent SPAM from
one of their spin doctor Marketing employees.
73's
Have a better and Less Commercialized Tomorrow.
and most of all "Have Radio Fun"
