Barry,
I had the opportunity to see, check and operate an ACOM-2000 fully
automatic and remote-controlled amplifier.
I intend to post a brief review on reflector but I can tell you that my
first
impression was excellent. I had the time to open it few times, to operate,
to conduct some tests and I can tell you that the mechanical & electronic
design looks highly professional and components and workmanship seem to
be of an excellent quality by western standards. The layout looks quite
similar to AlphaPower 87A ( I think that is the same factory manufacturing
the
91 BETA for Alpha-Power ). By functionally point of view, it has many, many
useful features I ever dreamed about and it looks and acts in a very
flexible.
The tubes are Svetlana 4CX800. More details will follow as the time and
conditions ( it's not my equipment ) will permit to conduct some rellevant
lab test.
I have made some detailed digital photos inside the amplifier. I have also
the
installation & operation manual and I'm still learning all the features.
By the way, I'm not related in any way to ACOM or FINNFET.
