?  The 4-250A glows pretty bright.  It has the same cathode as the 
3-500Z.  With 0v bias and approx. 3500v on the anodes, a pair in AB2 G-G 
will deliver the legal limit on cw and ssb.  I recommend the cooling 
technique used in the Heath SB-220.
