Mr. Russo,
I can't speak for the other folks on the reflector =
but I personally find your comments about the Spanish language somewhat =
offensive, even if you did liberally sprinkle your post with a few cute =
"Smiley :-) Faces" to sweeten! In actual fact you will find that =
repeating a similar phrase such as "AUDIO, AUDIO" (Yes, in English) or =
perhaps Bongiorno!, Bongiorno! in your native Italian, will invoke the =
very same ALC response and resultant level of overdrive & splatter in =
any given Amp or Transmitter. Your comments do little to fortify =
the camaraderie & spirit of friendship which Amateur Radio is supposed =
to embody. A spirit which is not defined by race, creed, or color. As =
far as your "technique" making it into print in the next issue of QST =
goes, "Don't hold your Breath!" as the editors of this fine publication =
and the ARRL will likely find your comments just as distasteful as I =
have.
To the other members of the reflector, I realize that =
Richy's comments were an attempt at humor :-) however they were, in my =
opinion, in poor taste and more apt to alienate the group members of =
Hispanic descent. I apologize for being "off topic" but I felt this item =
had to be addressed. TNX for your tolerance.
                                                                         =
