In my view, the parasitics debate ended when the missing piece of the 
puzzle was supplied.  After writing several articles on the subject,  I 
had no clue as to why bandswitch arcing was possible.  Mr. Rauch's 
discovery of a Tune-C resonance just above the anode-resonance freq.  
provided the answer.  The Tune-C was in effect acting like a z-step-up 
L-network.  (see photo of crispy-crittered TL-922 bandswitch on page 15 
in "Parasitics Revisited", October, 1990  *QST* magazine).
