Yes I have a recommendation for a true peak-reading meter. The Yaesu
YS-60. It reads both peak and average selectable. It requires 13.8 vdc
input as it has 2 IC's and 6 transistors. Both AES and HRO have them in
stock. They sell for around $129. It has 3 power ranges 20-200-2000W. It
also has a special qrp / swr scale . I use mine daily . With it there is
no need to whistle or shout into the microphone. One can speak normally
and the true PEP will be displayed on the illuminated meter. For a nice
close-up photo of the meter and some more details like bandwidth etc visit
my website.
