I got something similar to PEM nuts from Barnhill Bolt Co. They're sorta like threaded pop rivets. You put them in the hole you drill, then attach and installation tool which is basically a grade 8 bolt through a cylinder and tighten. The threaded part snaps off and is drawn into itself wedging in place. I've used them for years ans never had a problem. I think the brand is AVK.
