I NEVER have a metal watch strap. I saw a guy at Marconi wear one while standing
in front of a 30kW rig with the covers off. He was taking notes on his
clipboard, with his arm in line with the the tank coil and about 2 feet away.
The induced circulating current gave him a very nasty burn.

There's a whole slew of people have had sparks to metal watchbands from car
batteries, too.

There was a suggestion here some time ago from, I think Marv, to use a very high
value resistor and a neon lamp and a capacitor to give a flashing light. Put it
across the HV line in the PA cage, and you have a warning when you open it up.
There's shorting sticks, too....

The high currents involved in solid state PAs don't make them any safer, by the
way.
