A three tone test, where two normally spaced tones are measured 
and modulated by a variation at a non-coherent syllabic rate, would 
be best.

Remember the supplies are very much stabilized at frequencies 
over a few dozen Hz by the capacitors that remove ripple, while the 
voice will move them  around at a much slower rate.
