I would try a coaxial choke balun with c. 18' of coax at the output of
the amplifier and see if RF still gets in the radio.
- The 1000D gnd should not be physically connected to the antenna side of
the coaxial choke balun. Such a balun is essentially as good as the coax
it is made from, provided it is not operated near the self-resonant freq.
