I am looking to modify an SB221 for 10m.
Does a stock SB221 have the extra band position contacts, or do I need a new
switch?
Next question - I found a web page which states to simply add the components
as shown in the SB220 schematic [coil, caps on either side of coil (radio
input and tubes)]. However, the SB221 I have here shows different component
values for the 15-80m bands as compared to the SB220 schematic. There is
also the issue of the filter unit inline before the ref input reaches the
tubes.
Do I need to remove the filter? What is the recommended method to add 10m?
If worse comes to worse, I will use the 15m position on the bandswitch for
10m if there are no 10m contacts on the switch wafers.
I appreciate any insight you may have. I have not found much surfing the
web..
