Now the plot thickens.   Are your meters this much different or
is your line voltage varying?  And which one is really right?
You need to resolve the actual line voltage as well as the
regulation of the line voltage before you set the tap on the
transformer.

But since the amp operated for some time before it faulted
it does seem that line voltage variations combined with the
wrong tap MAY be the issue.

At least this gives you something to think about while you
are reading the manual!    ;-)

Getting past my bedtime and since your amp is new it is
best to work directly with CrossLink.
