We had a TL-922A at our college club station when I was
an undergraduate. I don't recall running it in the CW position
very often even though we operated a lot of CW. Being young
and dumb we ran the amplifier very hard and never had any
problems that I can recall. Typically we drove it with a
TS-830S tuned for maximum output power (120 to 130 watts).
We did not run RTTY, however.

I can't speak to the AL-80 as I have never owned or used
one. I have used various 2x 3-500Z amps (Drake L-4B,
Drake L-7, SB-220, TL922, AL-82). I don't recall running
any of these amps much past 850mA.
