Hi,
I am planning to build a PA for 20 meters and I saw interesting designs
using power MOSFETs. One of the difficult points in such designs is
input matching due to the high gate capacitance of the MOSFETs,
particularly if several are used.
The grounded-grid configuration is a time-honored classic for vacuum
triodes. I have never seen power MOSFETs used that way.
My question is: Could a gate-grounded circuit help with the power-MOSFET
input matching problem?
More generally: Has someone already tried to build a grounded-gate power
MOSFET amplifier?
