This brings to mind a good story... When first licensed back in the late
sixties as school kids, the FCC regs read such that the power input to the
final stage of an amateur transmitter shall be no more than 1 kW on CW and 2
kW P.E.P. My ham buddies and I always fantasized about that 50 kW driver
stage that would have, technically, met the regs.... someone finally got
smart and changed the regs!
