Sorry this is a bit off topic, but I'm hoping someone can help.

Does anyone have a manual in pdf format for the HP 5342A microwave
counter (10Hz to 18GHz)? Yes, I know they can be bought from eBay from
people who can't legally distribute them. But if anyone has got one, and
will send me a copy, I would appreciate it. If its large, use Yousendit

http://www.yousendit.com/

but I am not going to be around much after Monday, so send it before
then, or later next weeek, as Yousendit only keeps the uploads for one
weak.

There are lots of options for this model.

001 - high stability timebase. Useful I guess, but not essential if you
have a more accurate external one.

002 - amplitude measurement. Useful.

003 - extended dynamic range. Since this limits sensitivity a bit, I
would want to avoid that.

004 Digital to Analogue converter. Feeds an analogue voltage
proportional to frequency I think. Not really much use, especially if
you have option 011.

005 Frequency extension to 24GHz.

006 Limiter protection.

011 GPIB - pretty essential I think.

plus others for rackmount, barcodes, extended warranties etc.

Does anyone know how practical it is to move an option from one counter
to another?

Some have GPIB what I want, and some have the ability to measure RF
power which would be handy, but I suspect not with a great deal of
accuracy.

I'm wondering if it would be practical to move the GPIB option from one
and stick it in another. There are sometimes blown up models on eBay
very cheap, which I suspect would have a functioning GPIB. So buying one
of them, lifting the GPIB out and putting it in another would seem
worthwhile if it can be done. But clearly if it needs new firmware, it
is a hassle.

Please reply by private email, since this is off-topic.
