Roy,

All 6146's are not entirely interchangeable.  There are some differences
between the 6146/6146A and the 6146B/6146W tubes that limit their
interchangeability for SOME applications, earlier Collins S line for one.

I specifically bought what I did because I thought they were 6146A's.  It
was only upon closer examination that I discovered the other markings.

Electric branded and marked 6146A in ink or paint or whatever it is.
However, etched in the glass some are marked 6146B or 6146W.  Has anyone
run across this before or know anything about it?"

They are all interchangeable & nominally the same bottles.
