I'm wondering what RCA manual that is referenced in. I have an ET-4336F that 
was built for the Royal Navy back in 1944 by RCA that uses two RCA 813's 
mounted horizontally. So for shock, I still think they will be OK.

RCA data says not. Vertical only, either way up.
