I'm *not* at this point wishing to discuss any particular issue with the
3-500Z, which is a tube I have never used, or took much notice of its
data sheet.

There's nothing wrong with a hot topic. But when it gets too personal,
aggressive etc, then there is a problem.

Well that is not the case. It is illegal to send spam in most (all?) US
states. It's illegal to have pornographic images of children in the UK
and I expect the US too. So there is a degree of censorship on the
Internet.
You might get a little bit fed up if the mailing list was taken over by
those wishing to discuss flower arranging, or the flat earth society.
There's a place for those topics, but it is not here. It would be
considered 'off topic'. In the same way the personal insults and
aggressive manner should off-topic.

That statement lacks rigor, but even then I believe it is incorrect.
For a single sine wave of 1 W (mean power), the PEP is 1 Watt too.

But mean and RMS powers for a sine wave have a factor
sqrt(3/2)=1.224744871391589 difference between them.

So for the case of a single tone, the PEP (which is the mean for one
tone) is not the same as the RMS. So PEP measurements do *not* produce
an RMS value.
