Corona is observed with 1100 watt input @ 3600 KHz on the 3 mm diameter tip 
of the whip.
The corona discharge causes blue ionized flames approx. 2-4 inch long. The 
discharge happens with a cracking sound in the rhythm of the SSB voice 
peaks.  Placing a 1 inch aluminium ball on top of he whip stops the corona 
discharge.
