Colin,
I believe PayPal is a California corporation. You can get the "agent for
service" for free if you walk into the Secretary of State's office, or buy
the "Statement of Officers" statement for $5. This includes the agent for
service. If the legal process is refused, or if the address is invalid, you
can serve the Secretary of State who will accept it on their behalf. If they
can't get ahold of the corporation to tell them about their court date, they
are out of luck.
